    Hi,

Can I bring to everyone’s attention the hogweed that is growing fast at this time of the year, it can be found around the course and in some cases in areas that are deemed to be in play, because of this we have introduced a local rule.

“Where your ball comes to rest in play, in an area of growing hogweed or near enough to it that impedes your shot, then you are allowed to lift & drop your ball to a safe area, no nearer the hole without penalty”.

This situation will be monitored and members will be kept up to date of any changes.

The main areas at the moment are under the bushes to the left of the 7th green, to the right of the 8th teeing area and the ladies 8th winter tee area.

If members know of other areas that are in play, please let me or the course manager know.

There are numerous areas which are out of bounds so please be careful if you venture in these areas looking for your ball.

Going forward we will be liaising with the course manager to find a more permanent solution to this.

    cheers

    Phil Stokes
